Wednesday Wants 4-29-15

Wednesday Wants 4-29-15

1. When it comes to mugs, I have quite the growing collection. I use them a lot for coffee and tea but can find storing them to be tricky. I have a mug tree but it only holds four and is pretty old and unstrudy after many years of use. I saw this beauty on the Urban Outfitters website and instantly fell in love. I love the color which would fit any kitchen and more importantly, it's space! This thing can hold all my mugs and more! Definitely will be picking this up next paycheck,
2. Bracelets have been my least loved jewelry pick for ages. I seem to have pretty boring metal or black ones that I never feel inspired to wear. These little gems from H&M are too cute to pass up. I love that they are simple in design but so colorful. I can definitely see myself reaching for these during the summer!
3. I love me a pair of gladiator sandals. The look, the comfiness of them just has my heart. I never have been able to track down a good black pair to add to my all brown collection. These from Forever 21 are perfect because not only are they black but they are in a low price range and aren't too decked out with studs or a crazy design.
4. I picked up my first Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the Sephora sale last week and boy did I not know what I was missing! These pencils are amazingly pigmented and not drying like other matte lip products tend to be! I have the color Dragon Girl but this peachy color is one I will be adding to my collection and handbag this summer for sure!
5. Tarte is one of my favorite beauty brands, especially when it comes to blush. I have never gotten my hands on their foundations before and am thinking that was a mistake. This full coverage Amazonian clay foundation has rave reviews. I have seen the lovely Lily Melrose use it and her skin looks so perfect after, I decided enough is enough and I need to pick this beauty up quick!
These are all the things I've had my eyes on this week! What have you been lusting over lately? I would love to hear in the comments below! Thanks for reading!

April Playlist

Hey guys! I'm back from quite the blogging hiatus and thought sharing my monthly playlist today was a good transition back! April was a pretty crazy month for me, I started two new jobs and adjusting to a busier schedule took a lot more energy than I anticpated, therefore my blog suffered. I think I have it worked out for now and hope to put more love into the baby that is neonjenn:)
April, music wise was fantastic. I got to see both Father John Misty and Vance Joy live, which were both so great.
I honestly listened to this playlist a lot this month and am happy to share it with all of you!
I rewatched the first three seasons of Girls a couple weeks ago, so you might notice a lot of the music like Fleet Foxes and Robyn is from the show. Such a great soundtrack Lena uses! I have quite a bit o indie music classics on here like Silver Lining by Rilo Kiley and No One's Gonna Love You by Band of Horses. Hope you enjoy! What music have you been listening to this month? I would love for you to let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading!

Wednesday Wants XVIII

Wednesday Wants XVIII
I definitely left my heart in the desert this year again. The Coachella by H&M collection is one I have been obsessed with since laying eyes on it in the Coachella valley. This tank I just love with the palm trees and Coachella ferris wheel. It would be perfect for laid back summer nights.
Travler hats (that's what I call them at least) are something I have admired on some of my favorite musicians for ages but wasn't comfortable pulling off myself. I'm slowly warming up to them on my own noggin and love this one from Asos. I love the light color and the little gold detail on the brim.
Tapestries have always seemed to be stoner decor to me but I'm glad to see Urban Outfitters is changing my mind on this idea. This ocean scenery tapestry is just so beautiful and I would love to find a place to hang it in my apartment(if I ever move out that is!).
Liquid eyeliner is one of my favorite makeup products ever. I tend to stick to neutral colors but have explore a bit with blues. This pink color has really caught my eye and I would love to try it out as something totally different than what I'm used to! Stila liquid eyeliners are by far the best I have ever used and have one of the best color ranges in eyeliners also.
My Lorac Pro Palette has been getting quite a lot of love from me lately. It has me seriously pondering whether or not I want to pick up the second Pro Palette as well. It's quite different from the first and has less everyday neutrals than I am used to. However I am intrigued by that idea and like that this palette might push me out of my boring brown eye shadow box!
Let me know in the comments below what you are lusting after this week. Also have you tried any of the products above? I'm really curious about the makeup bits and would love to hear some feedback on them! Thanks for reading!

Happy Easter!

Hey guys! Just wanted to post a little something and wish you a happy easter! I hope you have a blessed day filled with family, friends, and fun. Hoppy Easter:)

March Playlist

Hey guys! My March Playlist was one of my favorites I've done recently and I'm happy to share it on here. It had a major theme to it, (who knew so many songs I love have California in the title?) my two week vacation. This playlist definitely kept me company during my long flights, days at the pool, and my morning walks. Hope you enjoy! Let me know what songs you were loving this past month in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

Vacation Makeup: Lips

So I kind of dropped the ball my last few days on vacation blogging wise. I am back home now but thought I would post the last part of my vacation makeup series. I'm sharing today the few lip products I brought with me on my trip.
Nyx lip glosses are by far my favorite so I packed four different kinds. My favorite the butter glosses in colors Eclair and Angel Food Cake. I also packed my Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams in Istanbul and Stockholm. These colors are some of my favorites for being so versatile on different skin tones (pale and tan for me).
Then I decided to only bring three of my MAC lipsticks. I brought all pinks because I tend to only reach for pink lip products when on holiday (no clue why, it just happens!). I packed from left to right, Saint Germain, Viva Glam Nicki, and Chatterbox.
I hope you enjoyed this series of posts on my blog. Let me know in the comments below what your tavel makeup essential is! I would love to read your responses! Thanks for reading.

Vacation Makeup: Eyes and Palettes

These items took up the bulk of my makeup bag this trip but are none the less very important. I mean how can one function without mascara?!
For eye bases I brought my Mac Paint Pot in Painterly and Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. Both are so long lasting and really make eyeshadow colors pop while holding them in place.'

Liquid eyeliner is one of my newer vices so I brought along two trusty ones. My ride or die Stila Liquid Liner in Brown and Milani's Eye Tech Liner in Black. Both are easy to draw with and stay in place all day. I also threw in my Anastasia Brow Wiz to keep those brows in check!

Mascaras I kept very simple with my Rimmel Scandalous Show Off and Covergirl's new Full Bloom Lash Mascara, which I just posted a review on!

As for palettes, I brought three. A little excessive but I honestly couldn't pick just one. My MAC quad with my four favorite eyeshadows, my larger MAC palette with my favorite neutral eyeshadows and two blushers, and lastly my new favorite the Lorac Pro Palette. I've used all of them but definitely will only pack one next time!
I'm thinking of doing a video or post series on what eyeshadows are in my MAC palettes, let me know below if you would be interested! Also what eye makeup do you bring when you go on holiday? I would love to read your answers! Thanks for reading!

Blog Re-Vamp

Hello beautiful people! I have been really inspired to keep up with my blog lately and I finally decided to change up how it looked too. I bought this simple template from a Etsy shop called BloggerTemplate and it was on sale for a whopping $6! What a steal! I love how simple and clean it makes my blog look, before it was a bit cluttered. Let me know what you think!

I'm also thinking of buying a proper web domain for my little blog. I would love to know if any of you bloggers have made this step and what you think about it? Also what domain site did you use? I'm pretty clueless on that stuff so if you have any pointers I would appreciate them! Thanks for reading!

California Dreaming | A Vlog

Hey guys! I posted a quick vlog of what I have gotten up to on my trip in California. Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!

This Is Where I Leave You

Dramedy's are quickly becoming my favorite type of films. I love that they can make you both laugh and cry all in a span of 90 minutes. Who doesn't love to aid their emotions with some humor? A movie that really exposed my love for these types of films was This Is Where I Leave You.
Photo from

In my true fashion, I'm always a good year or two behind on seeing films. I remember seeing the trailer for this ages ago and wanting so badly to see it but never making it to the theater. When it finally came up in my Netflix mail list, I was pretty excited and this film definitely didn't disappoint.

It has an all star cast (I hate that phrase but it's true) my favorites being Tina Fey, Jason Bateman, and Adam Driver. They really are the heart of this film about a family forced to hold "shiva," a Jewish tradition of mourning a death (in this case their father) for a week without leaving the home.
Photo from

The family dynamics are typical dysfunctional movie family style but these actors make it seem a little more believable. There are so many different branched off issues with different members of the family that are actual issues many families face. This was a part of the movie I loved, how relatable it was.

Overall this movie is fantastic. The cast is worth it alone to me, I would watch these people stare at paint drying, they are that entertaining. With the diverse storylines for each character though, you are bound to find one that you can relate to. I highly suggest you give it a watch, especially since Tina Fey right hooks Dax Shepherd, and who doesn't love that?

Let me know what you think of this movie in the comments below! I would love to know if you have seen it and what you thought of it! Thanks for reading!

Wednesday Wants XVII

Wednesday Wants XVII

This H&M T-Shirt really caught my eye in the men section of the store the other day. Sadly, they didn't have any left besides the one on display in the window but that doesn't stop me from wanting it! I'm currently on vacation in Palm Springs, CA the location of the Coachella music festival so this tshirt only seems fitting for me to have! I love me the Coachella Valley!
Eye cream is a new staple to my beauty regime, but one I have been really enjoying. The drugstore one I have now works pretty well but I would love to explore my higher end options. This First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy is a favorite of Fleur De Force that I have been wanting to get my hands on lately.
NARS foundations are some of my favorite in my collection. When I saw they released the new All Day Luminous Foundation I knew I wanted to try it. I did sample it on my hand and it seems pretty full coverage and a little goes a long way. I will definitely be picking this up when my beloved Sheer Glow runs out.
I've always had a love for animal themed fashion pieces. Sweaters with puppies all over it or something more simple like these rings from Forever 21. I love the simple design with the cat face and fish cutouts. So cute and easy for everyday wear.
Lastly, these jelly shoes from Forever 21 take me back to my childhood. I definitely owned a few pairs of jelly sandals in the 90's and am in love with the fact that they are making a comeback. Not only do I love these throwback designs but also the mint color is just too retro not to pick up! Hello favorite shoes of the summer!
Let me know in the comments below what you think of these items I have my eyes on this week. Do you love or hate any of these products? Also what are you lusting over lately? I would love to hear what you all think! Thanks for reading!

Vacation Makeup: Blush and Highlighters

To continue with my vacation makeup series, I'm moving on to cheek products today. I kept it pretty minimal in this department and only brought a handful of items.
For my basic everyday powder I packed my much beloved Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, I seriously love this stuff and love it's price even more!
Hoola Bronzer by Benefit I picked because it's been my go to the past few months. I love how it works on my skin tone when I am super pale or when I have a bit of a tan. Great universal bronzer!
Also by Benefit, I packed my mini Cha Cha Tint and Sun Beam as a good liquid blush and highlight alternative. Sometimes I reach for these products if I know I'm going to be out in warm weather and want my makeup to last!
Along the same lines, I brought my old LE Cream Color Base by Mac in Tickled Pink. You can't get this product anymore unfortunately, but there are a bunch of great alternatives on the market. I love that this can be used as blush or lip color, the perfect travel friendly product!
Lastly I threw in my NARS Madly Blush. I love this blush, it's the most beautiful peachy tan color and it looks fantastic when my skin has a bit of color to it!
Let me know what you think of this series in the comments below! Also what cheek products do you pack when you are traveling? I would love to hear what you guys think! Thanks for reading!

Vacation Makeup: Foundation and Concealer

Hey guys! Today's post is continuing on my Vacation Makeup series with foundations and concealers I brought along for my trip.
For starters I brought along two different primers. First is my travel size Smashbox Photo Finish Green Primer. This is great for reducing redness I get from my inevitable sunburn. I also packed my newly found love that is the Maybelline Pure BB Cream. I love this product for days I don't want to use a full face of foundation to cover up unevenness in my skin.

As for foundations, I stuck with my trusty NARS Sheerglow for nights I want fuller coverage and my MAC Face and Body for days I want to keep it light. Face and Body to me is the best vacation foundation. It can be worn light like a tinted moisturizer but can also be built up to a fuller coverage.

Pretty much my whole concealer collection made this trip. I love all of them for many different reasons and since they are small figured it was okay to pack the lot. MAC's Prolongwear, Select Cover-Up and Studio Finish are my three higher end concealing champs.

I also packed my two favorite drugstore concealers, Maybelline Age Rewind and Revlon Colorstay. Both are fantastic for under the eyes!

Hope you are enjoying these posts! Let me know below what your favorite base product is on vacation? I would love to hear what you guys think! Thanks for reading!

In Full Bloom

Drugstore mascara is one cherished makeup product that doesn't let me down or dwindle my account balance. A lot of new styles come out each year and I like to test a few of them out. Covergirl's latest mascara to hit the market is Full Lash Bloom.
The packaging is typical Covergirl, big clunky bright colored plastic. It doesn't bother me but I don't think it's the most efficient way to package a product. The wand is nothing new, a plastic contraption with plastic spikes all along it's cylinder body. I do notice that if I get it too close to the root of my lashes it can be sort of painful with the spikes. Something that does disappoint since I like to get into the roots to create as much volume as possible.
The mascara itself is on the drier side when it comes to a formula. Something I actually prefer over slimey or overly wet formulas. It does need a bit of working with when using it but makes for a pretty curled and bold lash once it's put to work.
Overall, I do like this mascara. I don't know if I will repurchase it because of the trouble I can have with the wand and drier composure. I can't complain too much since I did get it half off of when I bought it though!
Let me know what you think of this mascara in the comments below! Do you love it or hate it? Are there any other drugstore mascaras you love and I should try? Thanks for reading!

February Playlist

This post is long overdue so I will make it short and sweet! February flew by in a flash for me, but I really loved this playlist the whole month. Some great indie songs I fell in love with found their way on to the playlist by artists like Lord Huron, Bahamas, and Father John Misty. I also threw in some of my favorite older songs from John Mayer, David Gray, Bon Iver and The Boss, just to name a few!
Hope you like this post and let me know what you have been listening to lately! Talk to ya soon.

My Carry On Essentials!

Hello there! I just wanted to post quickly that I have a new video up on my YouTube channel! It's all about my carry on essentials when I am traveling. I'm on a spring break trip at the moment so thought the timing was perfect. Thanks for watching!

Vacation Makeup: Skincare and Haircare

Hey Guys! A new series I thought I would do while I'm on vacation in California is the beauty items that I brought along with me. I always love what's in my makeup bag videos, so I thought this was a good way of doing it in a written form!

I'm starting off with the basics, skincare and haircare. Since I am on vacation for 2 weeks, mind I did bring a few more items than I normally might.

Starting with skincare, I brought my new found deodorant love that is Degree Dry Spray and to keep smelling fresh, I packed my favorite holiday scent the VS Pink Beach Spray.

To keep my skin soft and from drying out I packed my two favorite moisturizers. The Aveeno Ultra-Calming Moisturizer for daytime and the Cera-Ve PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion for nighttime.

My trusty Trader Joe's Micellar Cleanser Wipes made the trip to help breakdown my makeup at bedtime. As for the morning, I bought a baby bottle of my favorite Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub. Last but not least my current eye cream, the Olay Fresh Effects Bright on Schedule was included to keep the bags away!
For my hair, only three products made the cut. I find too much product really weighs down my hair so the less the better. My two ride or die's by It's a 10 I had to bring along were the Silk Express Miracle Silk Smoothing Balm and Miracle Leave in Plus Keratin. I also brought along a mini Redken Control Addict Hairspray incase I felt like being fancy and curling my hair!
I hope you liked this type of post and keep your eyes peeled the next couple of weeks for the rest of the series! Let me know in the comments below, what are your vacation skincare and haircare essentials? Thanks for reading!

Garden Variety

Essie Nail polish ranks pretty high on my nail polish love list. They have some pretty unique and beautiful colors that I find myself reaching for constantly. While I don't obsess over their seasonal releases, usually a color or two catches my eye and I add it to my ever-growing collection.

Garden Variety from their Spring 2015 was one such color. I tend to love blue hued nail colors, especially if they can be grouped in the teal family. Garden Variety checks both those boxes and has become one of my favorite colors in my collection. I love that it's not a pastel, the typical spring hue (don't get me wrong I love a good pastel!), and is a darker teal but also still quite bright on the nail.

The formula is pretty great also, you don't need more than two coats to make it completely opaque. It also doesn't stain your nails like some blue tinted polishes do! Color wise it is similar to Fly by OPI (from the Nicki Minaj Collection) but Garden Variety is a bit lighter.

Overall I love Garden Variety. It's a lovely bright teal that is different from the norm of Spring pastels. I think it's the best color out of Essie's Spring 2015 collection. Check it out next time you cross paths with a Essie stand!

Let me know in the comments what you think of this color. Are there any other spring polishes I should be trying? I would love to hear what you think! Talk to ya soon.

Wednesday Wants XVI

Wednesday Wants XVI
This week my eye has caught things that are pretty dark on the color spectrum!
First off are these trainers by Nike. They are the Flyknit series and I just adore them. My sister has a pair that gives me some serious shoe envy. I love the black and white contrast on the shoe and that they could be worn with anything dressed up or down.
Secondly this sweatshirt from Forever 21 totally stood out to me today. It is my favorite color black and states the words Puppies Love Me. I just think it's really cute and would be fun to wear on lazy days. Also you can't beat Forever 21's prices!
Thirdly, is another workout based item. LuLu Lemon is a brand I have never tried but I do love their stuff. I love these leggings especially because they are so high wasted. I love not having to pull leggings up or a tshirt down to cover the tum duirng a workout so these pants are definitely a do for me.
NARS is one of my favorite makeup brands of all time. This Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl is a super bright red lip that I think is just stunning. The main reason I want it really though is because it's rumored to be Taylor Swift's favorite red lipstick...
Lastly is this lovely necklace from Forever 21. I love the simplicity of this necklace that sits higher on the neck and has small geometric shapes on the end. It's a lovely piece that would add a nice touch to a night out's outfit.
These are the wonderful things I am lusting after this week. Let me know what you have your eye on in the comments below! Talk to ya soon.

Musical Spotlight: Bahamas

If you have seen my past playlists posts, you would of noticed the name Bahamas shows up quite a bit. I'm starting a new series of posts that will highlight different bands and artists I have really been enjoying and want to share. I thought no better way to kick off this series than with featuring Bahamas!
Photo from
Bahamas is really just one Canadian guy whose name is Afie Jurvanen. He used to tour and play with the Canadian singer Fiest, but ventured out on his own solo career and man I am glad he did! His music is really unlike anything I listen too. It's mostly acoustic, and he has a husky low baritone voice. It's a bit scratchy but also very soothing.
Awful photo quality I took at his show!
While Bahamas seems to be a pretty unknown indie artist, you might have heard his song"All the Time" which was featured in a James Franco, Samsung commercial. He has released three albums, all of which you can stream on Spotify. I highly suggest you check him out, his music is great for when you are needing to get in the zone. I prefer to listen to him when I am blogging or reading due to his mellow style of music.

Bahamas songs you should listen to now:
Sunshine Blues
Lost in the Light
Stronger Than That
Can't Take You With Me

I also was lucky enough to see him live in January and posted a vlog about it over on the ole' YouTube. Let me know in the comments below what you think of Bahamas! Are you already a fan of his? I hope you like these kinds of posts! Thanks for reading, talk to ya soon.

Wednesday Wants XV

Wednesday Wants XV
My 15th edition of Wednesday Wants is throwing back to basics.
The first item I am lusting after is this lovely side table from Ikea. It's kinda weird to lust after a side table but I have a empty space in my basement that I would love to jazz up with this piece. I love the grey color, I have a nightstand in the same color that I am in love with. The storage on it is great for little nick nacks and the glass top is a unique feature.
Sunglasses are one of my favorite accessories because they can make you look more pulled together than you seem or feel (hello hangover friend). I tend to stick to unisex styles like wayfarers and aviators and think these John Lennon-esq shades are a must have for my collection. I love the blue tinted lenses and the floral arms that make this Forever 21 pair really unique. I mean can you get any more Sixties than this?!
The third item I really have my eyes or rather ears on is the new Mat Kearney album Just Kids. I have been a huge fan of Mat Kearney for almost 10 years now. His music is amazing and I know this album will not let me down. His style is really unique and I can't wait to get my hands on his 4th album!
Foundations are one of my all time makeup weaknesses. I have heard about the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foudation for ages but for some reason have never picked it up. Lately I have had major issues with red skin due to cold weather and none of my foundations feel as full coverage as I hope they would be. This from what I've seen and read is the ultimate full coverage and I can't wait to try it.
Lastly, and along the same lines as perfecting my base is the Nars Creamy Concealer. This is a raved about product and I am a sucker for a good concealer. I am almost finished with two of mine and will definitely be trying out this much loved flaw fixer. I have high hopes for this one!
These are all the things I have my eyes on this week. Let me know below if you love any of these items as well. Also what are you lusting after at the moment? Thanks for reading, talk to ya soon.

MAC Prolongwear Eyeshadows

MAC eyeshadows have been a staple in my makeup collection for years. You just cannot beat their quality and their color range. MAC released their prolongwear eyeshadows quite a while back and promised that they would last longer than their original shadow's formula.
I didn't jump at first to get my hands on these babies. First of all, I thought that MAC eyeshadows already lasted pretty long on the eye. Secondly, these new longer lasting shadows were more expensive and way larger in size than their original counterparts.
Last winter however after seeing other bloggers play with them, I decided to try out a couple of the prolongwear eyeshadows. And boy I wish I would of tried them out sooner!
I picked up the colors, Uninterrupted, a matte camel color, and Sweet Satsifaction a shimmery champagne color. I picked up the ones that don't come in pots because they are cheaper and I can pop them in my MAC palette that I don't have dividers in. They are about two times the size of a regular MAC eyeshadow which is pretty crazy and makes me feel like these will last forever!
As for the shadows, they both have amazing pigmentation and truly seem to stay in place throughout a whole day and night of wear without needing any touchups. Some of my regular MAC shadows have the same effect when being worn for a long time, so I don't see the big fuss about these shadows being longwearing. All in all they are fantastic eyeshadows that I reach for quite often!

Let me know in the comments below if you have tried these shadows and what you think of them! Are there other shades in the range I should try? Thanks for reading, talk to ya soon.

Vlog Number One

Hello there! I have played around with vlogging in the past but nothing ever really stuck. I was lucky enough to see two of my favorite musical acts a few weeks back and took some footage. I compiled them into a video and then added some random clips from my past couple weeks. It's definitely my first vlog so it's not the greatest thing but I love the video from the shows.
I think I will continue vlogging even if nobody likes to watch them because I like to have these memories to visually revisit:)
Let me know in the comments below what you think and if there's anything I can do to make vlogging more enjoyable for viewers! Thanks for watching and I'll talk to ya soon.

The System

Nail Polish is definitely one of my biggest vices. I own way too many, yet still continue to add more to my collection every once and a while. I used to be a big fan of the OPI by Sephora collection and was bummed when I found out it had been discontinued.
I was less than thrilled when I found they had replaced the line with their own called the Formula X line. To go from a big nail brand name to simply using their own was a huge downgrade in my mind. Boy was I mistaken though!
Please Excuse my Awful Cuticles!
I had seen quite a few good things about the line so I decided to pick up The System, their Formula X starter kick a few months ago when I popped into a Sephora. The System comes with a Nail Cleanser, Base Coat, Top Coat, and then any color from the line you wish! A mauve-grey shade called Virtuoso is the color that spoke to me. I love the freedom of being able to pick your own color rather then having them put a select few in the starter kit like many brands do.
I cannot rave enough about these nail products. The base coat and top coat are fantastic and not goopy like many others I have tried. The color range is truly fantastic with everything from the palest of pinks to the darkest of navy.

Besides the great color range, the nail polish itself is very long wearing. It doesn't chip until the 3rd or 4th day of wear, when most other ranges chip the 2nd for me! Even after doing a sink full of dishes, the color stays in place. A lot of this can be attributed to the base and top coats, but I have tried the color on it's own and it still doesn't chip very easily. As for the cleanser, I don't quite understand it to be honest. I am least likely to purchase it but will 100% be repurchasing both base and top coat. I also hope to add more colors to my collection very soon!
Let me know in the comments below if you have tried this line and what you think! Do you have any color recommendations for me from Formula X? Thanks for reading and talk to ya soon.

Wednesday Wants XIV

Wednesday Wants XIV

Wednesday Wants XIV by neonjenn18 featuring Kat Von D
My town is getting a Lush soon so I have had my eye on quite a few things I would like to splurge on when the store opens. The first is this 50 Shades of Earl Grey massage bar. Besides the amazing name, I am attracted to this product because I love earl grey tea and I have never actually tried a Lush massage bar! With the weather so weird here, It's the perfect time of the year to give my confused yet dry skin some extra buttery love.
An equestrian is something I am definitely not. However I do love to dress like one! Riding pants and boots are some of my favorite fashion items to play with and this riding jacket from H&M would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe. I love the navy blue quilt fabric and brown piping. It's cute and cozy and will definitely have people complementing my fashion sense and (imaginary) horse riding abilities.
Bahamas is a band I have loved for the better part of a year and was lucky enough to see live last month. Lead singer Afie is amazingly talented and I really need to get my hands on his albums. He is an artist I would prefer on vinyl so I plan on ordering all three of his albums soon, I suggest you check him out!
The Kat Von D liquid lipsticks have been raved about by beauty bloggers for ages and I am now sold. I really want to get my hands on one of these puppies and this beautiful port color is just calling my winter bird name. So lovely!
London is a city I have loved since I was little yet never had the chance to visit. Hopefully that will change soon, but until then I can keep London close to my heart with this beautiful cityscape necklace. It's from the beautiful etsy shop laonato. They make such lovely and delicate jewelry which is very reasonably priced. This necklace is so unique and definitely something I would wear with a pair of wellies.
These are all the things I've had my eyes on this week. Let me know in the comments below if you have been lusting over anything this week as well! Talk to ya soon.

I'm really bad at choosing favorites! I really love Daniel Day Lewis, all his movies are amazing. I'm a huge fan of Jennifer Lawrence she can play so many diverse roles so well it's amazing. I also love Leo Dicaprio, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, and Zoey Deschanel.

3. What do you enjoy most about blogging?
I love that my blog is a space where I can share all the things that interest me. I also love that blogs connect people who share similar feelings and views on things who wouldn't of normally got a chance to share about it in real life.

4. What is your most memorable moment?
Mine happened in 2013. I was amazingly lucky enough to see two of my favorite artists in a span of 24 hours. I went to see John Mayer whom I love so very much and the next morning I woke up at  flew to San Francisco with my dad and saw Van Morrison live that evening. It was seriously the best thing that has ever happened to me and I also fell in love with a city I had never been before. I'm not doing the story justice here but it would be too long if I did:) I don't think anything can ever top it!

5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
Well coming from above it would be San Francisco, but I would also maybe love to live in London or New York City.

6. What are three things you cannot live without?
This is hard but I would say books, music, and animals!

7. If you could be any Disney princess who would you be?
I am not a huge Disney fan (yes I know it's weird) but I guess I would be Merida cause she's a badass little feminist, has awesome hair and a great Scottish accent.

8. Favorite TV series?
Ah man another hard favorites to choose! I really love The OC, Weeds, The Office, Friends, Orange is the New Black, Cops, and Girls.

9. When/Why did you start blogging?
I think I started over a year ago? Something I should know but really don't! I started because I loved reading blogs and was inspired by them to share my own views, thoughts, and ideas.

10. If you could meet anyone who would it be?
Oh wow. Such a hard one to choose! I don't know if I can... right at this moment I really am interested in Ed Sheeran so he would be a fun fella to meet I think:)

11. Describe yourself in three words?
Okay I'll try... Honest, Stubborn, Creative

These were great questions and really fun to answer. Now I nominate:

These 5 blogs are fantastic and here are the 11 questions I want them to answer

1.What is your favorite hobby?
2. Do you have a favorite musician or band?
3. If you could pick one last meal what would it be?
4. Favorite brand of makeup?
5. And your favorite item that brand makes?
6. One fashion trend you wish never happened?
7. Which book could you read over and over again?
8. Your favorite thing about your city or country?
9. Favorite film genre and favorite film from it?

I look forward to reading these replies! Thanks again to EsseHearts for nominating me and allowing me to spread the love to the blogs above. Talk to ya soon.

January Playlist

So I am a few days late with my monthly playlist posting but I figured with the Grammy's on television tonight, this was a perfect fit! January for me was a great month musically. I was lucky enough to see two bands I really love live, Cold War Kids and Bahamas. Both are included in the playlist and I hope you look into more of their catalogues they are really fantastic.
I also was into some sixties music this month like Stevie Wonder and The Four Seasons (thanks to the movie Jersey Boys). January was a blend of all music for me and I really hope you enjoy! Let me know in the comments below what you were listening to this month! Talk to you soon.

I opened an Etsy Shop!

Hello lovely readers! I thought today I would quickly share the fact that I opened an Etsy shop! It specializes in stickers that are great for planners, scrapbooks, calendars, and more. Stop on over and check it out if you are interested in that kind of stuff! Feel free to leave me any questions at the shop or down below in the comments here. Thanks for your support!

Wednesday Wants XIII
Statement necklace are a trend I am slowly dipping my feet into. This beautiful set by Charming Charlie is something that really caught my eye a couple weeks ago and something I would definitely dress down with a white v-neck, jeans and my leopard slip on tennis shoes. I love the contrast of the royal blue with the cerulean shade. Such a lovely piece!

Foundation brushes are one of my most beloved items in my makeup collection. I have quite a few because I seriously believe different foundations work better with different styled brushes. I've been especially fond of regular styled foundation brushes lately and this Louise Young brush seems like the super daddy of them all. I've seen Anna from Vivanna does Makeup use this alot and I'm desperate to add it to my collection!

Dusty pink has been a color I've been drawn to this year and so when I saw this sweater over at American Eagle is instantly caught my eye. I love that the inside seems to be a shearling lined inside yet not too heavy or thick on the outside. Perfect for those colder spring days!

Charlotte Tilbury is a makeup range I have heard a lot about but unfortunately haven't had access to. I just recently learned that in the US it can be ordered from Nordstrom's website! The first thing I would love to pick up is this Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette. I have seen nothing but raves about this product and am so eager to try it out! If I could look a little bit more like a silver screen siren everyday that would just be the cat's pajamas.

Yet another beauty item that caught my eye this week was this navy blue shade in the Sephora Formula X nail polish. I'm a huge fan of these nail polishes, they have amazing chip resistance and lasting power! This navy is a new limited edition shade and would be so lovely during the spring especially if it was paired with a coral or rose accent nail!

These are all the items I have had my eyes on this week. I hope you enjoy! Let me know what you have been lusting after this week in the comments below! Talk to you soon.

Resolution Check-Up

The first month of 2015 is almost over and everyone's resolutions have either floundered or taken off. I know I never made a post on what my resolutions were because I wasn't quite sure until mid-January (not a great sign of success)! I thought since I have my ducks in a row I would give statuses on all my new year goals!
                                                   Resolution                                     Grade
                               1. Cruse Less, Use nicer language                         C-

So I have a bit of a sailors mouth. The older I get the more I realize this is not a positive thing and am desperately trying to rid my vocabulary of some of my favorite toxic words. So far it's not going great. Damn it.
                              2. Read More/ Watch TV less                                  B
I love to read but never really had the time when I was working on my undergrad. Now that I have finished I wanted to up my novel game. So far it's going pretty well. I'm not reading every single night which was my inital goal but I have already finished one book which I am pretty happy about and am catching up on my magazines that I definitely have a back log to work on! As for the less TV, my Netflix has seen less love this month and I try to listen to music while I work on different things like my blog or a puzzle which is less distracting and I believe somewhat mentally healthier!

                                       3. Start turning only into the closest lane!          A-

This seems like a very strange resolution but it's one I have actually been doing pretty well on! Where I live it is illegal to turn into the outer lane of a double lane street (which is insane I know) but I refuse to get my first ticket for such a silly reason. I have definitely been more aware of this whilst driving!
                                       4. Live a Healthier Lifestyle                              D

Possibly the most popular resolution made and also the one with the highest fail rate. I am pretty much on the track to failing so I really need to get it together. My family got a treadmill which I have not been using everyday like I originally planned. It's a little hard to start working on long distance running when I'm not hitting the faux pavement everyday! Eating healthier I like to think I have been a little better about. I'm more aware of my choices and am trying to eat things in moderation instead of cutting them out cold turkey. This is by far my worst attempt in my resolutions and I just hope the next month I can better attack it!

Those are my resolutions and my updates on them! I might try and update on them every other month or so in a post. What are your resolutions for 2015 and how are they going? I would love to know! I hope everyone has had a lovely January. Talk to you soon!

Jersey Boys was a movie I had wanted to see since I first saw the previews last year. I am a sucker for music biography films and usually am never disappointed by how they play out.

While I didn't know much about The Four Seasons as a band, I love their music from the 1950's and 1960's so I knew the film's soundtrack would be good enough of a reason to give it a go. That and the fact that Clint Eastwood both produced and directed the film.

The movie is overall really well done. I loved how authentic the scenes seemed in terms of eras and the cast's acting and singing is really fantastic.

I do have a few problems with the film's style overall however. First off, it was kind of hard to follow! I watched it with my sister and multiple times we found ourselves confused about where the band was or even what time period they were supposed to be in. They do show time and period overlays in the film but only twice! I had wikipedia handy in order to clarify different moments in the film.

The other issue I had was with the overall narrating. All four men took turns as narrator which I did enjoy because they all saw different events in the band's life in totally different ways. However they did this commentating by looking directly at the camera and talking to the audience as if they were telling a story. It just felt kind of cheesy to me personally and the film could of probably done without it and still told a strong story.

Over all I really did love this movie and highly suggest it to anyone who loves musical biography films like I do. It does clock in at a little over two hours so make sure you have a clear night if you plan to watch it! If you guys have seen this film, what did you think of it? I would love to know your thoughts below! Also I would love to start reviewing movies on the blog let me know what you think! Talk to ya soon.

Wednesday Wants XII

Wednesday Wants XII

This week has left me with a hodge-podgy weekly wants but none the less these are things that really caught my eye!

1. First off I saw the cutest badger sweater from ModCloth over on a great blog called The Dainty Squid. I forgot ModCloth even was a thing but after reading Kaylah's lovely clothing roundup post I spent a good hour browsing their website. I came across this gem of a sweater. A freaking hedgehog on a navy sweater is a garment after my own heart.

2. I love how simple yet beautiful this gold shark tooth necklace is from J Crew. It is the charm type of jewelry I tend to gravitate towards and unlike anything I currently own!

3. In the past year I have built up quite a nice record collection. I love listening to vinyls and am so happy they are becoming more easily accessible! My main problem now is storing my records. They currently are squashed between my record player and my tv. That's fine for now but when I move out this year (hopefully) I would love this record holder from Urban Outfitters. Not only is it a brilliant yellow color but it showcases the records instead of just storing them!

4. I don't know about you guys but winter takes a serious toll on my skin, especially my hands. Last night I was in so much pain because they were raw and red from the cold weather. I love my Soap and Glory Hand Food lotion but am not sure it is quite keeping up this time of year. This Endless Glove hand lotion seems to be a little more effective and I am desperate to give it a go! Let me know down below if you have tried this and what you think!

5. Last but not least is this lovely airy, 1960's styled dress. I will be heading out to the West Coast soon (not soon enough!) and need to start picking up items to wear. My summer wardrobe is seriously lacking in volume so I have been browsing pieces to pack. This dress from Forever 21 is right up my alley. It is beautiful but not fussy. I can throw it on with sandals a floppy hat (like the model has) and be on my way!

These are all the random things I am lusting after this week. Let me know in the comments below what you have your eyes on! Talk to ya soon.

Boom Clap

Hey Guys! Back today with my first video of 2015! I really loved the makeup Charli XCX was rocking on the January cover of Nylon Magazine and decided to try and recreate it! I love how the lavender eyes and bright red lips are something you definitely don't see everyday:) Let me know what you think of the look in the comments down below! Thanks for watching and talk to ya soon.

Smells Like Clean Spirit

Nirvana is normally known for two things, a sense of enlightenment and a kick ass rock band. However it now is also known as a beautiful scent created by the Olsen twins.

I was on the hunt for a new scent this winter after my Chanel Chance ran out. I wasn't ready to commit to a full bottle of anything and decided to give a rollerball a try. I had never used a rollerball but had always been intrigued by their low price points and portability.

I tried out many but Elizabeth and James' Nirvana was the one that stood out. It has a lovely clean scent that really sticks with you all day without being overpowering. It is made up of Muguet, Peony, and Musk scents which come together as one classy perfume.

This is the first perfume I've owned that really makes me feel like an "adult." It feels professional and I will definitely be buying a full bottle when my little rollerball runs dry. The white packaging symbolizes the normal scent, it also comes in Nirvana Black. That scent was a bit overpowering for everyday unlike it's light counterpart.

I highly suggest this perfume for anyone looking for something light and suitable for everyday wear. It is currently available at Sephora in the .34 oz rollerball, 1oz and 1.7 oz bottles.

What is your favorite scent for the winter time? Let me know in the comments below! Talk to ya soon.

Wednesday Wants XI

Wednesday Wants 1/7/15
Hello 2015! The new year is here and I have brought back one of my favorite posts, the weekly Wednesday Wants! I feel kinda funny lusting after items so shortly after Christmas but then again Christmas left me with a number of gift cards which forces some online shopping am I right?

With it being the new year I am also very concerned about upping my skincare game in 2015. Sephora carries some fantastic brands such as Boscia that I haven't had many opportunities to try. This Konjac Sponge really stood out to me as an interesting skincare tool that I would very much like to give a go! It's made with charcoal properties which can help cleanse pores that are overtaking your skin. If anyone has tried these I would love to hear what you think in the comments below!

Statement necklaces are a trend that I have always admired but never thought I could pull off. This beautiful two toned metal necklace from H&M seems like the perfect first step in my statement necklace journey. It's not too bulky like some can be and is more simple on the design side compared to others. And for only 12 bucks it's not a wallet killer if I decided statement necklaces aren't for me after all!

A good weekender bag has been something I've chased after for years. Everyone I have come across was either the wrong size or price. Then last week I saw this brown beauty on Forever 21 and instantly added it to my wishlist. I love the faux leather look and the size are perfection. Oh and did I mention it's under 40 dollars? Score!

Continuing with skincare, I love a good mask once a week to really cleanse the skin. This Mask of Magnaminty by Lush is a fan favorite and is a mask I would love to use when my skin is having problems during that particular time of the month!

I got a few gift cards to spend at my favorite place ever known as Sephora. There is one major item I have held off from buying for probably a year now and that is the Anastasia Contour Kit. I have seen nothing but raves about this and feel like it is finally time to take the plunge and add this beauty to my collection!

Those are all the lovely items I have my eyes on this week. Let me know what you have been lusting after lately in the comments below! Talk to ya soon.

December Playlist

Happy Monday! I believe today was the first day back from break for many people and believe me my heartache is right there with you. I thought I would share my December Playlist from Spotify today to liven at least a mood or two? This is the playlist I listened to pretty much all of December when I wasn't jamming to Hanson's Snowed In (anyone else think this is the best Christmas album ever made?)
I know some Christmas songs are on here (hello Bright Eyes and The OC) but some of the other songs are great all year around. For example, old school Maroon 5, Van Morrison (always), and Tokyo Police Club. Let me know what you were listening to this past December in the comments below! Anything I should be looking up to hear? Talk to ya soon.
