As If!

First things first, (we all knew that was coming) I've been behind on my blog. Something I have not been behind on however, is the so called "Kylie Jenner" lip trend. I tend to refer to it as a 90's trend lip or Cher (from Clueless) lip if you will, since they originated the trend whilst Kylie was still in diapers.

I was lucky enough to stumble across two delightful products from the drugstore that suffice my 90's nude lip needs. For starters I line my lip with the Rimmel London Lasting Finish 10,000 Kisses Lip Liner (maybe the longest product name ever...) in Mauve Shimmer. It's the perfect liner for this look and is similar to the much sought after Mac Whirl lip liner. Sometimes I simply wear this lip liner alone if I'm in a hurry. It applies smoothly and lasts quite a while.

To top the look off I have the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Rose Velvet. These lipsticks are super creamy, last all day and are by far my favorite in the drugstore. The color Rose Velvet is a bit more brown toned than Mac's Velvet Teddy (which Kylie rumors to use for her look) but I think is rather suiting to all skin tones.

Two products and one throwback lip look brings us to a major makeup trend. I've been using these products for a few months and am glad to see the 90's lip trend does not seem to have a end in sight. Usually I sway from makeup that is outside my comfort zone and was hesitant at first to wear such a earthy lip. However it is one of my favorite looks I constantly seem to return to!

Let me know what you think of the Kylie Jenner/90's Lip in the comments below! Also let me know what products you use to achieve your look! Talk to ya soon.

Vlogmas Overload

Hello lovely people!
I don't know about you but this time of year my YouTube subscription box is busting full of Vlogmas videos and I LOVE it. I think it's something about watching some of my favorite people who don't vlog often, pick up that camera and film during the holiday season. I thought I would share with you a few of my favorite Vlogmas girls (yes they happen to all be female!) this season.

1. Lily Pebbles

Lily is a rather popular British blogger and YouTuber whom I really admire and her vlogmas has been so entertaining! She gets up to some fun stuff on the daily in London and I enjoy seeing different parts of the city during Christmas time:)

2. Sunbeams Jess
Jess is another British YouTuber who's vlogmas I have enjoyed for the past few years. This year has been especially funny since her pup Mimi has become quite the character in her vlogs. Did I also mention she is one stylish lady?

3. The Fashion Citizen
The Fashion Citizen made up for twins Steph and Mel I believe are on their first year of vlogmas. So far it is really entertaining to watch! They may not live in a glitzy city like London but watching what they get up to and their banter is hilariously wonderful.

4. HelloOctoberxo
Last but certainly not least this season I have been loving Suzie from HelloOctoberxo's Vlogmas. She is yet another UK blogger/YouTuber but instead of London lives in Brighton I believe. She is simply stunning and I just adore her dog Nala who is literally one of the cutest pups on earth.

Those are some of my favorite Vlogmas roundups of the season! I hope you enjoy them too! Let me know down below if any of these are your favorites! If not, who's Vlogmas have you been enjoying? I would love to know! Talk to ya soon.

Collective Autumn Haul

Hey Guys! Finally I have a new video uploaded on my channel! It's a Collective Autumn Haul with some good stuff from Sephora, Forever 21, and a few other places. Hope you enjoy! Like and subscribe for more videos on their way:)

November Playlist

Well Hello there! It has been ages since I have blogged. November was not the greatest month for me health wise and it really kept me from feeling like working on anything especially my blog. I am feeling loads better now however with Christmas in the air and have a bunch of blogging and video ideas on their way!
One thing November was a great time for was music. I listened to lots of music this month and of course thought I would share a playlist of my favorites from November. Some are old favorites I came across again this month, especially some gems from the 90's. Others are a mix of pop hits that I couldn't stop jamming to and a few indie darlings that fell into my ears. All in all I love this playlist and can say I honestly listened to it every day this month. I'm even listening to it now as I write this:)
Hope you all are well and I can't wait to be blogging and uploading more content in December! Talk to ya soon.

Wednesday Wants X

I have had a weakness for UGG boots since I was in middle school and the whole cast of Laguna Beach rocked them. Yes I still love them and yes I still wear them all the time. It snows a lot where I live so they are more a comfy necessity than a fashion statement. Either way, these pair of mini UGGs are too adorable to pass up! I love how small and easy they are compared to my large leg length pairs. Also the maroon color is to die for!

Marc Jacobs Beauty is sadly a makeup range I have yet to try out. I have read a lot of good things about it and plan on putting some pieces on my Christmas list this year. That includes the much loved Lolita eye palette. Neutral eyeshadows are my favorite and this palette seems to have them all. It seems so beautiful and I hope to add it to my collection soon.

To apply my makeup I have a dinky little mirror in my room but usually end up in front of my massive bathroom mirror to get a better view of things. This mirror from Ikea is perfect for my desk and therefore applying makeup in my bedroom once again. I love the simple design and the fact that it is large but slim enough to make it easy to store.

Tweed is a fabric I usually shy away from. It is very hard for it to not look Granny-ish if you know what I'm saying. These shorts from H&M however are nothing like a tweed suit a granny would rock! I love the color and the black leather piping down the thigh. They would look adorable with black tights underneath and a killer pair of black booties to match.

Lastly, is another H&M item. This shredded sweater. I love sweaters and also distressed items. This may look like distress to an extreme but there is something so simple and casual about it. I would love to pair this with black leggings (and maybe a pair of UGG boots?!) with my hair up in a bun and glasses on. The perfect sweater for a errand day.

These are all the items I have been lusting over this week. Let me know in the comments below what you have your eyes on this week. Talk to ya soon.

See. Hear. Read.

So I have been really poor at blogging lately. I haven't felt well and that really put me off working on anything. This week I am turning it around though and starting off with another See. Hear. Read!

See

This past week I was lucky enough to stumble across the amazing Casey Neistat's YouTube channel. This guy is literally the best YouTube content creator I have ever seen. I spent a whole afternoon watching almost all of his videos and couldn't get enough. This latest video is a Google Glasses review shot in the most creative and authentic. I did some digging and found out he actually has (or had) his own HBO show and I plan on going HAM on it soon. Seriously check Casey out you will not be disappointed! Oh and also his snapchat stories everyday are fantastic!

Hear

Okay so I am the last person who wants to admit that they not only bought but actually love the new Taylor Swift album. Yet here I am loud and proud! 1989 is such a catchy album and is like nothing Taylor has put out before. It's 0 country and 100+ pop. Blank Space and Style are by far my two favorites and you can find me singing along loudly to them in my car daily. Even if you think you aren't a huge Swift fan, I suggest you check this album out it's so diverse it has a song for everybody to enjoy.

Read
Yep people I know. I am still stuck in my Harry Potter rut. Don't get me wrong I love love love Harry Potter and all seven stories but sometimes I have major trouble reading through series of any books in a timely manner. I'll read a story really fast then take ages to finish the next one. That is definitely happening to me now. Even worse this is one of the largest books so it's taking super duper long for me to plow through. I made good headway this weekend however and am trying to read a bit every night. Hopefully the read section of these posts will become more interesting soon!

Those are all the things I have been enjoying this week! Let me know if you have seen, heard or read anything good this past week in the comments below! Talk to ya soon.

October Playlist

Music is a major part of my life. I usually don't go a day without it. I thought I would begin to share monthly playlists on my blog. I've seen a couple other blogs do this and rather enjoy seeing what people are listening to.

My music tastes tend to change along with the seasons. Since it's getting colder out, the music I've listened to has a bit of a more mellow vibe versus the more upbeat stuff I jam to during the Summer. Since Spotify is pretty much where all my music listening is channeled through I thought it was easiest to share the playlist this way. Hope you enjoy!

Let me know if any of these songs have been your favorites too or what you have been listening to this October in the comments below! Talk

Wednesday Wants IX by neonjenn18 featuring mac cosmetics
1/ Since it is officially Fall now, scarves are a must on my wardrobe list. I have many that I love but am always on the hunt for more! This star printed one from American Eagle definitely caught my eye. I love the large bold print paired with the muted white and grey color. It would look fantastic with a pair of jeans and a jewel colored t-shirt!

2/ Floral dresses are honestly my kryptonite. I love how they can work for any season depending on the print and color. For example this beauty from Forever 21 (please excuse the strange editing I did to cut out the model!) is perfect for Fall and Winter. I love that it has some sleeves so it doesn't warrant a jacket in cooler weather. The fact that it's black with muted pink flowers also rings all my floral dress bells!

3/ I have read/seen many raves about the Sephora Formula X nail polish. I have yet to try it but really think The System kit they offer would be the perfect gateway. It comes with a base and top coat, along with any nail color from the range you want. I'm not one to shy away from new nail polish and nail care items and plan on picking this up the next time I'm in Sephora!

4/ Lip pencils are another thing I cannot seem to live without this Fall. I used to shy away from them but lately find myself gravitating towards them quite often. This lip pencil from MAC in the color Dervish is one I've seen talked up highly. It is a beautiful pink/mauve color that would work really well if you are trying to pull off the 90's/Kylie Jenner lip (which let's be real we all are).

5/ Lastly, Bath and Body Works have gone and released their Winter collection. This means serious problems for my wallet. Frosted Cranberry is not a scent I remember seeing in candle form before. I haven't got a chance to smell it yet but the packaging alone makes me want to add it to my basket pronto.

That's it for my Wednesday Wants this week. I hope you enjoyed all the things I have my eyes on! Let me know in the comments below if you are partial to any of these items or what you have your eyes on this week. Talk to ya soon!

Bright Lips in the Big Cities

I've been pretty rubbish at blogging lately but now that I'm feeling better things will get back to normal. Today's post is all about my new favorite drugstore find. I'm going to go as far as saying I think this is the BEST lip product available currently at the drugstore.

No surprise, It's a Revlon product. They seem to be pros when it comes to lip products. I've been a massive fan for ages and was pretty late to the game on these babies. The Revlon Colorburst Moisture Stain is their best product I've seen yet. I believe it's a dupe for a YSL stain but have not tested those to know how they compare. I can't imagine they are much better than these much cheaper alternatives!

It's glossy but not at all sticky. I love how creamy it is and the velvety feeling it has on the lips. Also the staying power on these puppies are impressive! They literally last all night even if you are drinking and eating. I only had to apply once when I wore mine out the other night for over 4 hours.

The two colors I have are New York Scene (a vibrant true red) and Parisian Passion (a darker berry). The Parisian Passion is by far my favorite I find myself reaching for it all the time. Both are beautiful colors for Fall! I highly suggest these products and am definitely going to pick up more myself! Talk to ya soon.

1. This sweater may not scream fall but I am in love with it! It's from American Eagle and I just love the color blocking going on here. I especially love the last three layer (grey, white, and blush) colors. It looks so cozy and I would love to throw it on quickly with a white tee and some skinny jeans.

2. Perfume is something I have not obsessed over until recently. My Chanel is almost gone and I really want to try the Olsen twin's Elizabeth and James Nirvana perfume. From what I hear it's a beautiful unisex scent that is perfect for fall. I've never owned a rollerball either so I'm thinking of killing two birds with one stone on this one;)

3. When the weather gets colder, my skin gets redder. I've never really gravitated towards green concealers or primers before but my skin seems to be extra red this year which has me itching to try green face products! This Smashbox primer is talked highly of and I love the fact that you can get a mini sample for 10 bucks before splurging on the big papa bottle that's around 40!

4. Hats have been my new fashion statement this fall. I cannot get enough of my beautiful felt black hat from Forever 21. So when I saw this little grey number on the Urban Outfitters website I knew I had to have it. I love the worn grey color and black trim. I am also on the hunt for a ox blood colored hat as well!

5. Lastly is this beautiful tank from Topshop. Tanks can be harder to wear in the winter because many of them are summer themed. However this top is the perfect fall/winter transition top. I love the monochrome color block detail and the silky finish makes it look way more expensive than it is. It would look fantastic dressed up under a blazer or dressed down under a denim jacket!

These are all the lovely things I am lusting after this week! Let me know what you have your eye on in the comments below! Talk to ya soon.

See.Hear.Read.

See
American Horror Story has always been a show that has scared the bejesus out of me. I never tuned into the first two seasons because being the scaredy cat I am, there was no way I was going to watch a show about a haunted house/asylum before hitting the sheets.
However now that AHS Freak Show has debuted, I am hooked! The storyline branches off with so many diverse and interesting characters. I am eager to see how they all connect in the overall plot.
The most exciting part to me is that the show itself is not scary! Sure some stuff is creepy or erie but nothing that makes me tremble with fear like a ghost or demon haunting. I'm glad to be enjoying a show so many have raved about over the years. However, to those who are scared of clowns, I would not suggest you tune in (due to the creepy murderous clown) if you want to keep getting your beauty rest.

Hear & Read
This week I have been guilty of not listening to much music. Music is a huge part of my life but sometimes I get so engrossed in other things that I lay off the Spotify for a while. This week instead of listening to music I have been really into playing The Sims 3. I know that seems outdated because TS4 was released but I have no way of playing it due to my owning a Apple computer and not having a Windows subscription. I'm still debating whether to run Windows on my computer to play TS4 or just wait for the Mac verison the developers promised is coming. In the meantime I'm pretty content playing TS3 and eating a cupcake;)
I have also finally made it to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in my annual HP series read. I think this book is one of my least favorites because it strays so far from a normal year at Hogwarts (call me a creature of comfort) and that has always bothered me. Well that and the fact that the movie was that weird year where the male cast didn't get haircuts.

Sorry if this week's See.Hear.Read seems a bit dull. I've been a bit under the weather since Wednesday which makes me really boring. So boring that I watched The Sex and the City movie and Clueless each more than one time this weekend. I hope you all have a better week than I have and I will talk to ya soon.

Haim Makeup Trilogy

It took me forever but I finally edited and posted the final makeup look in my little Haim makeup trilogy. This last look is Alana who is the baby of the three and always has the freshest/youthful looking makeup. Hope you enjoyed these three looks! Talk to ya soon.

Wednesday Wants VII

Dot by Marc Jacobs has been my favorite scent this week. I got a sample of it ages ago from a Sephora purchase and just rediscovered it recently. It smells so light and airy when applied and the lasting power is quite impressive! I really want to splurge on the large bottle before I'm completely out of my sample. The bottle is a little obnoxious and I'm not the biggest fan of ladybugs but for this scent I will put up with the bulky packaging!

Oxblood or maroon is by far my favorite Fall season color. This dress by Topshop is simple yet stunning. The long sleeves and jagged hem line are unique features for a plain cotton dress. These details paired with the color make it my favorite dress I've had my eyes on this season.

Girls has to be one of my favorite shows of all time. Lena Dunham is brilliant as the main writer and actress in the show. Her character Hannah is so relatable to where I am in my life right now (college grad with no direction of what's next) which I think makes it so attactive to me. That and the hilarious writing each season. Since I do not have HBO and Netflix doesn't stream their shows (one thing that makes me endlessly sad) I have to wait to watch the show when each season is released on DVD. I've been waiting to get my hands on Season 3 and just need to let it out of my Amazon cart and into my heart.

My pair of Urbanears have been with me through thick and thin. Now they are becoming a bit thin themselves and are in desperate need of replacing. The Platan are my favorite style and this pumpkin orange color is so beautiful and unique I can't wait to stick these babies on my birthday wishlist.

Lastly is this amazing palette from Hourglass. I've played around with these ambient lighting powders in the store but their hefty price tag always left me walking away empty handed. The fact that they are in a palette now and not quite as expensive as they would be separate, makes them even more attractive to me.

That's all the things I'm wishing for this week. Let me know in the comments below what you have your eyes on as well. Talk to ya soon!

Fall Haul

It seems that every store has brought out their Autumn seasonal items and that makes me go a little crazy. I picked up a few makeup bits and Bath & Body Works bobs recently and thought I would share in my first ever Haul video. See what I picked up below! Thanks for watching and talk to ya soon!

See.Hear.Read.

See
How to Get Away with Murder is a new show on ABC that premiered two weeks ago. Usually I'm not a sucker for crime dramas but this show is AMAZING! It was created by Shonda Rhimes who's behind Grey's Anatomy and Scandal both which I have seen but not watched enough of. It is set around a murder (shocker) at a law school and is full of flashbacks from present day to moments in the past. It's writing is dark and clever and the cast is well put together. Viola Davis can do no wrong and makes one bad-ass law school professor. Also the kid who played Dean Thomas in the Harry Potter films is the main character of the show! Crazy!

Hear
This week I can not stop listening to Bahamas. He's a single artist from Canada who makes feel good indie music. Some of it's fast tempoed like my favorite Stronger Than That. He also does really chill acoustic songs, Lost in the Light is a great example. I am really drawn to his music at the moment and suggest you go take a listen too. I'm bummed he just toured near my area and I missed the show!

Read
So I was a major fail in the reading department this week. I'm still working my way through Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I think it's because I'm also trying to catch up my reading of my Rolling Stone and Nylon subscriptions. Notice my cheeky little Hedwig set up above. Ya I'm corny, nothing new to me!
That's it for See.Hear.Read. this week. Hope you enjoyed a peek at what I've been spending some time on lately. Let me know in the comments below if you love HTGAWM (longest TV title ever) or have anything you are enjoying this week. Talk to ya soon!

Wednesday Wants VI

Wednesday Wants VI
Wednesday Wants is back again! This week I have my eye on some awesome items that have come to my attention recently.

First off is this classic trench coat by H&M. I watched the lovely Sian Shutterbug's September favorites and she made me realize I definitely do need a trench in my life! This one is the perfect length and khaki color. I think it's sold out on the site but I'm hoping they will have it in stores!

Lena Dunham is one of my favorite people on the planet. I'm obssesed with her and her show Girls. I think she is really empowering for women and I love that she embraces being atypical. The fact that she has a book out now makes me very excited and I can't wait to get my hands on it. Expect a review of the book on my blog in the next few weeks!

Usually I think stars are a little too cliche for my taste. This sweater by American Eagle however is so darn cute! I think I like it because the stars aren't obnoxious and the texture of the sweater (fuzzy wuzzy) outshines the stars (no pun intended). It's a unique looking piece I would love to throw on with a simple tee and a pair of jeans on a chilly day.

I've been playing around the past week or two with nude lipstick. Usually I'm not attracted to nude lips, they just don't do it for me. However with the 90's/Jenner lip trend happening I've been more inspired to pick up some nudes. I have a few that I have become rather fond of lately and would love to add this color in Brigitte from their new Audacious range to my collection asap!

Lastly are these amazing mix of metal rings from Topshop are simple but beautiful. I love that they vary in size and finish. I tend to lean towards more industrial looking things in the Autumn time and these are a big check on my list!

Those are all the lovely things I have been browsing at this week. Let me know if there is anything special you have your eye on a well in the comments below! Talk to ya soon!

September Favorites

I cannot believe September has come and gone already! Since I enjoyed quite a variety of things this month I thought I would share. I did a video and will link it below. Let me know in the comments what you enjoyed most this month! Talk to ya soon.

See.Hear.Read.

Hey Guys! Monday evening means time to share what I have been watching, reading and listening to this week. Hope you enjoy!

SEE:
Okay so this one is a total guilty pleasure. I have been working my way through Gossip Girl on Netflix. I read the books when I was in junior high (risque I know) and watched the show's first season when it was on t.v. but after that lost touch for the show. Since last year I have been trying to push through all six seasons but with school I never justified spending time watching Upper East Side drama.

Now that I have graduated I have been spending much more time than I would love to admit with my Netflix que. This includes Gossip Girl which I have a love/hate relationship with. Now that I am almost done with Season 4 it has gotten more enjoyable to watch the episodes since they are about my age and we share some similar ground (okay one sidewalk square, but it's something).

HEAR:
The last week of August I was lucky enough to see The Head and the Heart live. They were amazing and I couldn't believe I hadn't listened to them much before. Their folkie style ala Mumford and The Lumineers is right up my music alley. They have two amazing albums, one self-titled and the second called "Let's Be Still." Their music is perfect for this time of year when the weather turns cold and you just want some mellow music to listen to while lighting a candle and snuggling up to a good book...
READ:
Speaking of book. These might get quite boring but I am working my way through my annual Harry Potter series and am now on The Prisoner of Azkaban. This might be my favorite book (and film) of the entire series. I really love Sirius and he becomes a part of Harry's life in this novel. Notice my copy above is quite loved as the binding has sadly lost it's grip.

Hope you enjoy all the things I have been seeing, hearing and reading this week. Let me know what you've been enjoying this week in the comments below! Talk to ya soon.

Melrose Face

Melrose at Night
Smoke and Melrose

Wet n Wild eyeshadows are a complete shock to the system when it comes to drugstore eyeshadow options. They are one of the cheapest options available and yet are by far one of the highest quality. Many of the colors in their beautiful palettes are perfect dupes for MAC eyeshadows but a fraction of the price for much more product.

That's why when I saw these babies in the new makeup section of my local Walgreens I knew I had to pick them up before they vanished. These two lovely Autumn palettes are limited edition for the 2014 season. While I believe there are four 5-pan palettes in the Fall Melrose collection, I only grabbed these two because I knew they were colors I was most likely to wear.

First off is Melrose at Night. It contains a good mix of light and dark shades in maroon/purple toned earth colors. Off the bat I can tell the Base color (light off white one) is direct dupe for Nylon by MAC. Nylon is my favorite highlight shade on earth so I'm very pleased to find a cheaper alternative for it. All of the shades are highly pigmented (get ready to hear that more) and I swatched them dry above to prove they are vibrant.

Secondly is Smoke and Melrose. This palette is much more rose toned and has lighter shades than the other palette. It would do very well if you wanted to create more of a light smokey eye look. All of the colors in this palette can be seen as dupes from the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay. If you aren't sure rosy-gold toned colors are for you and don't want to splurge on the Naked 3 yet, I think this is an excellent alternative to dip your toes in the rose-gold water. Again all of the colors are highly pigmented and do not disappoint on color payoff!

These palettes just amaze me. The colors are so lovely and are so similar to ones that cost much more. Since these are limited edition I would suggest getting them quick I really don't think they will last long. Especially these two specific palettes since they seem to be the most neutral of the four available. I found them in my Walgreens last week so I expect most drugstores should have them in stock by now! Also they are priced $4.99 but were on offer for $3.99. Score! These eyeshadows definitely live up to their name because they look just as glamours as Melrose Avenue itself.

Let me know which one is your favorite in the comments below! Talk to you soon.

Wednesday Wants V

Wednesday Wants V

Hey Guys! It's time for another Wednesday Wants post! This week the things I'm lusting after have quite a Autumn theme to them. Not surprising since it is Autumn now officially and the weather has gotten much chillier where I am.

First off is this wide rimmed felt black hat from H&M. I've loved hats in this style since last Summer when I saw a few of my favorite male singers rocking them (aka John Mayer and Bear Rinehart). They are so effortlessly cool and can turn a bad hair day into a good one when you have no time to fix the mess that is your morning do.

This Jack Wills wallet from ASOS seems simple and even boring but I have been wanting a wallet for ages and this one fits my checklist. Most of the ones I have run across are either fugly or don't have the right organizing inside. This one has great compartments within and a lovely tartan print on the outside. It would be a great addition to the hot mess that is my handbag.

NARS can do no wrong when it comes to makeup in my opinion. I have a few of their lipsticks that I adore but none that really work for the Fall season. Fast Ride is described as a deep mulberry in color. These dark red/purple lipsticks are quickly becoming my favorite Autumn lip color and I would love to try one out from NARS who have a great formula of lipsticks.

Whilst browsing online through Forever 21 a few days ago (which seems to steal time away from me way too often) this little gem was on the new arrivals page. It is a silver hedgehog toothbrush holder! It is just too adorable and would look so cute in my bathroom.

Lastly is yet another item from H&M. We just got one in my town so I've really been checking out their stuff online lately. I love the idea of a sweatshirt dress for chilly casual nights especially if I'm going to something low-key like a bonfire. This one is so casual and has a hoodie which makes me want to add it to my closet asap.

These are all the things catching my eye while browsing online this week. Let me know if there is anything special you've come across in the comments down below! Talk to ya soon.

See.Hear.Read.

Hey Guys! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. See.Hear.Read. is going to be a new kind of post on my blog. It's pretty self explanatory but I will be sharing what things I have been watching, reading, and listening to each week. These bits are always my favorite part of people's monthly favorite posts so I thought I would contribute my own and more frequently than once a month. Hope you enjoy!

SEE:
There were two films I had the pleasure of watching this past week that were very different form one another but had the 1960's as a similar theme.
With Six You Get Eggroll is an adorable rom-com from 1968. It stars Doris Day and is a film about two widowers who fall in love and try to mash their families together. The concept isn't very original but the way the film is styled (very sixties aka funky) is really enjoyable to watch. I've seen it a few times and am always pleased when I find it on television.

The second film I watched the other night was Greetings From Tim Buckley. It stars Penn Badgley (as if I couldn't love him anymore) as Jeff Buckley, the late musician. It centers around a tribute concert to Jeff's father, 60's folk rocker Tim Buckley. The events of the story actually happened so it's semi-autobiographical, which personally are my favorite types of films. Penn is actually a very talented actor and musician (something we wouldn't know from watching Gossip Girl) and I think anyone who enjoys music and indie films would love this movie. I know I did.

HEAR:
Vance Joy is an artist I've been listening to for what seems like ages. My dad first introduced him to me with his single Riptide about a year ago and I have been pretty much obsessed ever since. Vance released his first full length album, Dream Your Life Away, a couple weeks ago and it has been on play nonstop whenever I have music on. It is such a mellow and easy listening album. He has a very unique voice that pairs lovely with the soft instruments on the tracks. Riptide is by far my favorite song on the record (how unoriginal I know) but I also quite like From Afar.

READ:
Every Summer I make it a priority to re-read the entire Harry Potter series. I usually aim to start doing this from July 31st to September 1st (cheesy I know). This year I started a few days before the start of September and have been slowly making my way through the books. I am half way through The Chamber of Secrets at the moment. Reading these each Summer never gets old for me. I love these stories so much and find new little quirks or moments to enjoy each time I read them!

That's all for my weekly See.Hear.Read. post. I hope you enjoy this type of post. I really enjoyed writing this and will definitely continue with it. Let me know in the comments below what you See.Hear.Read. this week! Talk to ya soon!

The Autumn Tag

Hey Guys! I'm back today with a fun little tag I came across while reading the lovely Fee over at Makeup Savvy. Since I don't have time for a proper post today due to a crazy work schedule I thought a quick little tag would be fun and rather easy to do. I haven't done a post like this so hopefully it will also help my readers get to know who writes these posts a bit better!

1. Okay, we're talking coffee's - what's your favorite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?
I am a starbucks fan for sure especially when the weather starts to turn cold. Not to be cliché (even though it so is) I love me a Pumpkin Spice Latte. However since those can get old pretty fast and I usually am back at my all time favorite a Soy Chai Tea Latte.

2. Accessories - what do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?
I'm not the biggest accessories fan but I really do love a good scarf. I have quite a few nice thicker ones from The Gap that I love to break out when it gets chilly. Also I do love wearing boots but I don't think I count those as an accessory personally!

3. Music - what's your favorite music to listen to during Autumn?
This one is hard because my music taste is constantly changing. I really love artists like Death Cab for Cutie or Van Morrison during this time of year. Anything more on the mellow and acoustic side is what I lean towards. I find myself constantly going back to them when it get's cold out (aka lately they are all I listen to!) I have a music themed post coming up soon that will showcase more Fall artists I love to listen to.

4. Perfume - what's your favorite scent this time of year?
Chanel Chance is pretty much my all year scent. It's a classic that I never get tired of and can adapt to each season. I am looking into getting a bottle of Elizabeth and James Nirvana for the Fall however!

5. Candles - what scents will you be burning this season?
When the Autumn time rolls around I become a candle junkie. Whenever and Wherever I can I will burn a candle. Bath and Body Works is hands down my favorite place to grab Fall scented candles. Their options are limitless! My top three are Mahogany Teakwood, Leaves and Pumpkin Caramel Latte.

6. What do you love most about Autumn?
The weather. I love when it's chilly outside but there isn't snow on the ground yet. When you go outside and your lungs burn just a bit because it's cold but at the same time it feels so refreshing. Plus my allergies really love the weather too!

7. Favorite makeup look?
Very recently I have been really into red lipstick. Last fall I loved the Lorde style super dark berry lips. Still love that but more for Winter this year I think. Now I've been gravitating torwards my Mac Viva Glam Rihanna which is a super bright red lip. Especially with liquid liner as a mate, I think they are my favorite Fall makeup pieces!

8. What are you looking forward to in Autumn.
I do love going to football games and tailgating that's always something fun to do in the Fall. Also the scents, foods, and the clothes are just my favorite and things I look forward to breaking out all year long.

That's it for The Autumn Tag! This was quite fun and has me excited for Autumn to really show up. Hope you enjoyed reading this and getting to know me a bit better. Leave me a post below if you decide to do the tag as well, I love reading other's answers.Talk to ya soon!

Wednesday Wants IV

Wednesday Wants IV

Hey Guys! Today I have my 4th Wednesday Wants to share! With Fall in full swing these days I'm lusting after some fall favorites.

The first thing I have my eye on is the Urban Decay Naked Skin BB Cream. I've been interested in this for a while but have never really reached for it. However on Friday (the 19th) it goes on sale at Ulta for HALF PRICE! That's right I am planning on picking up this little gem for only 17 bucks! If I get my hands on it before it sells out, prepare for a review on my blog to come.

Secondly, I was browsing Forever 21 online and saw these gems in the jewelry section. This set of three beautiful stone rings is only 5 dollars! I love the look of a large stone on a simple ring and these colors are so fall I would love to get my fingers on them.
Thirdly and also from Forever 21 is this long sleeved polka dot dress. I normally stay far far away from polka dots. They just don't rub me the right way. However the print is so small and simple colors make this dress beautiful to me. What makes it even better is the long sleeves! There is nothing better than a light and simple long sleeved dress in the fall time.

Fourth is this little holographic number I saw on the Nasty Girl website. I think this bag is so unique looking and would be so fun on a night out with a simple black dress. I also love that you can see inside it without it being just a plain plastic material. The spikes on the bottom also add a little something.

Lastly, are these adorable shot glasses from Urban Outfitters. I think these are just the cutest little things! They are mini replicas of a cooper mug used for a Moscow Mule (very yummy). The little handles and the color make me want them for my bar!

That's all the things I am loving this week. Let me know what you think and also what you are lusting after this week in the comments below! Talk to ya soon.

Este Haim Makeup Look

Hey Guys! I am back today with yet another Haim makeup look video! I seriously am in love with this sister trio and their style. I think they are really unique from their music and fashion sense to the way they wear their makeup. I already did a video on Danielle's usual makeup look and that video went over really well so I decided to re-create the other two sister's typical makeup looks also!
from TheGaurdian.co.uk
Today I've posted the look I did that is similar to what Este usually sports. She keeps her face rather matte from her foundation to her lips. What I really love (besides her super bold red lip) is the orange eyeshadow she rocks. I never in my life have thought to pick up a orange eyshadow in fact I don't even own one! So I improvised with a matte orange blush (Hello Peaches from MAC!) and mixed it with MAC's Brule eyeshadow (also a matte).

I'm kind of obsessed with how this look turned out and hope you like it as well. I will post the last video with Alana's makeup look hopefully this weekend! Thanks for watching and reading.Let me know what you think of the look down below! See ya soon.

Wednesday Wants III

Wednesday Wants Sept. 10
Hey Guys! Sorry for my lack of posts this week I'm afraid I've been a bit under the weather. That has not stopped me from browsing many online shops though! Here are the things I am lusting after this week.
I am really wanting a new foundation for the fall and have been eyeing the regular Bare Minerals one for ages! I love the idea of a mineral powder and am dying to give this one a go.

A lot of videos I have seen recently show people carrying backpacks. While I thought they were just a trend that would fade, I found myself over time loving them more and more. I love that I could throw my DSLR in it and take it around for a mobile shoot with such ease! this one from ASOS with owls on it was too cute!

Working out has never quite been my cup of tea. However I love riding a bike and my neighbor clued me in to how much of a good workout it can really be! I really love the style of a cruiser and this one from Target has such lovely and unique colors!

My brows don't need much help because they are already on the Peter Gallagher style but I do often throw a bit of powder into them just for good measure. I am getting quite bored of the powder and am looking to step up my brow game using this beloved Anastasia Brow Wiz. I have heard nothing but raves about it and really want to try it for myself.

Lastly, fall is upon us people! Idk about you but where I live the weather has taken a drastic and chilly turn this week! This change in temp has me lusting over things like apple cider, scarves and Bath and Body Works fall scented candles. Easily my favorite time of year for the ole' sniffer and with new scents like Vanilla Chai I can't wait to take a whiff!

That's all the things I have been eyeing this week! Let me know what has caught your eye in the comments below! Talk to you soon!

Throwback Thursday Videos

Hey Guys! I'm introducing a new series of videos I will be putting up on my channel called Throwback Thursdays. In these videos I will be recreating makeup looks from  different celebrities, movie and television characters from years past. I'm not putting a time limit on them so TBT can represent any look from 1950 to 2013! As long as it's not the present! I think it's a fun new way to see looks that maybe weren't explored much before. I'm starting today with a look from the Sex and the City Movie done on the character Carrie Bradshaw. Hope you enjoy!

Wednesday Wants II

Wednesday Wants 2
Hey Guys! Today I have some pretty exciting stuff in my Wednesday Wants!
First off I have been wanting the Lorac Pro palette for ages but lately have really been lusting over it! It seems similar to the Naked 1 but for some reason I still want to give this beauty a go. The colors are stunning and I have heard nothing but good things about it.
I just found out that Models Own nail polish is now sold in America at Forever 21! This is such exciting news for a nail junkie like me! I have wanted to try this brand and their unique neon colors for ages and now I can finally without paying a arm and a leg for shipping overseas!
Vance Joy has been a main stay on all of my playlists since last winter. I am obsessed with this amazing Aussie crooner and now that he put out his full length LP I have been dying to get my hands on it.
The 90's are making a serious comeback in the fashion world lately. This excites me simply for the fact that floral print babydoll dresses are in again! I am obsessed with the babydoll look and this one from AE is too cute to pass up. I love that the top is black but the bottom has a nice large floral print to it.
My last want this week is The Sims 4. I have been playing the sims for about 13 years now and can't believe the 4th installment is already out! Despite it's poor reviews I am still very curious to play it. Sadly since I operate solely on Mac software I can't try it without buying a windows computer or until they release a Mac version. I am hoping for the latter soon!
Hope you enjoyed seeing what I am loving this week and let me know if there is something you have been loving this week too!

Easy Everyday Summer Makeup

Hey Everyone! Today I'm back with a quick post and video showing my simple go to makeup look I've been using all summer. I really love these products and hope you enjoy the video! I am working on uploading more and improving the quality of my content on both my blog and YouTube. Feel free to follow me on any of my social media to see what I get up to during the week. Talk to you soon!

Get Ready With Me: Foster the People

Hey guys! I'm back today with a new video! I've been crazy busy with finals and wrapping up my degree so I haven't really had time to film. I'm hoping to change that now that it's all over. I recently went to a Foster the People show and thought I would film what makeup I was wearing to it. Since it was a outdoor show and a rather hot day, it's a look that strays a bit from what I normally do! Hope you enjoy and feel free to subscribe to my channel for more videos that are on their way. Thanks for watching!

Wednesday Wants I

Wednesday Wants Aug 20, 2014
Hey guys! I'm back today with a series I used to love doing! I've decided to change the way I do Wednesday Wants and I hope you enjoy it!
This week's set is inspired by the fact that summer is on it's way out. A lot of these items have summer vibes and I just don't want those vibes to disappear just yet!
I've been wanting to invest in a solid pair of sunglasses lately after breaking a bunch of cheapies. I was going to settle for Wayfarers but these Clubmasters caught my eye and I'm smitten! They are so beautiful and classy looking with the gold detail, I'm seriously considering shelling out a pretty penny for them.
I was lucky enough to see Local Natives play at a festival lately and was not disappointed. I've loved them for a while but seeing them live was a whole other level! Their mellow Cali- vibe sound would sound amazing on a record so I really want to grab their first album soon!
Booties may not scream summer but they are the perfect transition shoe from summer to fall. This pair from Forever 21 is adorable, not too high-heeled and comes in a nice brown color which I totally dig.
Toner has been my new favorite step in my skin care regime this summer but I hate wasting a cotton pad every night! Lush's Tea Tree Water Toner comes in a spray bottle which nixes the need to waste. Genius!
Lastly, this contour palette has been catching my eyes for a while. It comes with the perfect contour and highlight colors which will help me fake a tanned and sculpted look this fall. It's LE also so I better get my hands on it quick!
These are a few things I have my eyes on this week! Let me know if you are lusting after some of these too or if there is something else I should be looking at. Talk to ya'll soon!

Top Ten Summer Nail Picks

Hey Guys! I'm returning to the YouTube world today with a video all about my favorite summer nail colors. I'm a huge fan of bright colors on my nails and summer is the perfect time to embrace this! Some of these colors are from new summer lines and others are tried and true favorites that can be found in permanent collections. Hope you enjoy it and thanks for watching!

Hello Haim and Youtube!

Hey guys!
Long time no post. This is the worst I've done with updating my blog, six months! I'm back and with some super exciting news. After years of debating whether I should or not I have taken the plunge and joined the YouTube world!

I filmed and uploaded my first YouTube video tonight. I am both nervous and excited to embark on this endeavor. Since I'm graduating college soon with no real plans, this will keep me preoccupied and from binge watching Gossip Girl all day.

For my first video I decided to recreate Danielle Haim from the July cover of Nylon Magazine. I love Haim as a band and thought they looked gorgeous in the July spread. It's a soft rosy, smokey eye type of look, something I'm not used to but quite enjoy.

Below is a picture from the spread from Nylon and the photos of my recreation. I would love to hear what you think! Thanks for reading and/or watching and I will talk to you all soon!

Wednesday Wants January 8 2014

Wednesday Wants January 8 2014
1 2 3 4 5
My attempt at becoming a better blogger this holiday break and new year is so far a complete fail. However I'm hoping doing this Wednesday Wants will get me back in the mood! I have a new camera this year and am hoping it will inspire me to take more blog photos and posts as well.
The NYX blush in taupe is a popular one amongst beauty lovers and I have yet to try it. I am always looking for a good contour color and have heard this is a a great finance friendly option.
This winter I have been really into the babydoll dresses made popular during the 90's. Forever 21 seems to have a number of cute styles, most of them totally grunge looking with a floral print. This one caught my eye for it's larger print and bolder colors. Over a pair of tights and with a jacket I'm sure it will be something I will wear out on the town a lot.
Again with the cold weather we are having, I have been reaching for hats especially beanies more and more. This one from American Apparel is in my favorite color at the moment, Ox Blood which is a major plus!
I've been re-reading the Harry Potter series this break (since I never finished them over the summer) and am interested in picking up Rowling's non-Potter novel when I finish Deathly Hallows.
Lastly, boots are a must have where I live during the winter. A classic pair of black Dr. Martens are looking better and better as the winter wears on. Paired with my babydoll dress obsession, I will be a 90's fashion dream.
Let me know if you love any of the items above and I also am curious what you guys are wanting this week? Anything I should keep my eyes open for?
